also, if you live in the Bay Area and have some free time this Sunday, consider going to this: Marin Poetry Festival. Not that long ago, I heard Jack Hirschman read at a summer poetry festival in San Francisco (he is considered one of the city’s poet laureates, very into social activism)…I was also able to share dinner with Kay Ryan (current US Poet Laureate although she wasn’t at the time) thanks to a magical Stanford dorm event. At the very least, I can guarantee that both of these writers, who will be at the festival, are worth checking out.
